This division was made in two halves, the western half (hemisphere) was given to Spain while the eastern half was given to Portugal, who already had a well established trade route and trade agreements in and with the Africans. In addition to these things, the Spaniards also brought with them, new crops and livestock, which were used to cultivate the land and provide food for the colonists. The Spaniards also inadvertently brought with them, diseases that were largely responsible for the wipe out of the Native Americans and Amerindians who had no form of immunity against those diseases. The attraction to the Americas was their potential to increase the wealth of Spain through gold and other treasures, crops and slavery. The problem and how I discover it: My friend Asad study in CAMS school. In May 2008 he gave his year 10 exams and left for his holiday without taking his result. On his return when he went to collect his result with me he found lots of mistake in the report card. The term marks of history and literature were written incorrect. He marked absent in mathematics. We informed the examination department about this blunder and asked them to rechecked and correct it. I knew that it was an issue emblazoned in thousands of years of history and that, for the most part, each side blamed the other side for the conflict. However, rom what I did know prior to the panel, I had been unable to view the conflict in the Middle East from either a pro-Israel or a pro-Palestine light—both groups have committed atrocities, and both groups have been the targets of said atrocities. After listening to the Israel-Palestine panel, it became clear to me that a two-state solution is the only viable option. The panelists from Friends of Israel, J Street U, and Jewish voices for peace all clearly stated their support for and belief in the two-state solution. From discussion during the panel, I gathered that a two-state solution would include Israel as a Jewish, democratic state that will coexist peacefully alongside and independent Palestinian state.
